The restriction on visits from juvenile convicts to parents is annuled

The President signed the Law “On amendments and additions to the Criminal Executive Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at ensuring reliable protection of the rights and legitimate interests of convicts”. According to the amendments introduced by the Law, the restriction of visits by minors convicted to parents or persons replacing them is canceled. A separate procedure for visits by convicted women to minor children is established. In particular, convicted women are provided with 4 long visits with minor children up to 5 days during the year, and long visits to the colonies are provided without restrictions, with the possibility of living outside the institution. In addition, the procedure for the application of incentive measures based on fair criteria, as well as the activities of the commission for the application of incentive measures and its specific tasks, were determined. The law comes into force on the day of its official publication.
